Installing GT

NOTE: you do not need to read this section if you are a GT reseller unless you have specifically been told to! G There, that's that sorted :)

ISPs and brave souls only here. To keep these instructions readable, we have assumed that you know how to:

• edit a Perl script in a text editor
• use an FTP client - eg, WS_FTP, Cute FTP, FTP Voyager (nee FTP explorer)
• change file permissions using FTP

File permissions for the installation are listed in numerical format, ie 755 or 777. No idea what this means or what file permissions are? Ask a friendly geek, or read our brief overview ;-)

To avoid repeating the phrase, "ask your ISP", we are assuming that your either are an ISP or, if you aren't, that you have enough brain cells to ask your ISP if you get stuck.

If you will be installing GT many times on a server, talk to cLive about a custom GT install script that will save you a lot of time (you must have cgiwrap installed!).
